Audiology and Hearing Aid Services
Hearing is a highly personal experience. No two people hear sounds the same and hearing loss affects everyone in different ways. At Clifton Springs Hearing Center we understand what you're experiencing on a personal and emotional level. We help people of all ages with hearing loss live fuller lives.
If earwax builds up in your ears, it can interfere with your hearing and the fit and function of your hearing aids. Let the audiologists at Clifton Springs Hearing Center safely and painlessly remove hardened, impacted or excessive cerumen (earwax) from your ears.
Hearing Aid Evaluation and Selection
Hearing aids are one of the most effective treatments for hearing loss. Unfortunately, too many people live with hearing loss for years before seeking help. A hearing aid evaluation doesn’t take long and can make a positive impact on your quality of life. Schedule an evaluation for hearing aids with the audiologists at Clifton Springs Hearing Center.
Hearing Aid Dispensing and Fitting
The process of hearing aid dispensing begins with the hearing evaluation appointment and continues with the fitting appointment. The audiologists at Clifton Springs Hearing Center fine-tune your hearing aids using live speech mapping, so you get the best hearing experience possible. Since everyone hears differently, we take time to make sure that your hearing aids provide the sounds of your life clearly and comfortably.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Most hearing aid maintenance is performed at home with minimal effort. However, when repairs are necessary, it’s good to know that Clifton Springs Hearing Center is ready to help. Most repairs can be done onsite while you wait. If your hearing aids must be returned to the factory for repair, we take care of that as well. Bring your hearing aids in every six months for a deep cleaning. You’ll get the longest life and best hearing when your devices are cleaned by an audiologist regularly.
Live Speech Mapping
Successful use of hearing aids requires careful programming of the devices. You get the most personal programming possible because Clifton Springs Hearing Center uses live speech mapping to fine-tune your hearing aids. Bring along a friend or family member, and we will use their familiar voice to adjust your hearing aids to perfection. You will even see what the sounds you hear look like when converted to digital signals.
Hearing is crucial for emotional, social and educational growth. However, testing and treating infants and children can be a challenge. Clifton Springs Hearing Center is prepared to provide complete hearing care for your child from birth through adulthood.
Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
Do you hear ringing, buzzing, clicking, whirring or chirping sounds all the time but no one else hears them? Experiencing these phantom sounds is called tinnitus, and it affects more than 50 million Americans. Tinnitus treatments include:
- Sound therapies
- Behavioral therapies
- Drug therapies
- Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ) treatment
In addition, proper diet, physical and social activity, stress reduction and hearing protection may also calm tinnitus. Come to Clifton Springs Hearing Center for a complete exam and find out what tinnitus treatment options are best for you.
VNG - Balance Evaluations
Vertigo, dizziness and other balance problems are more than just annoying; they can increase your risk for a fall. Because your middle ear plays an integral part in maintaining balance, a videonystagmography (VNG) balance evaluation of your ear function can uncover the cause of your vertigo.
